2022 Legislative Updates in our Region

By Robin Stimson, LMSW

As many of you know, every year MADD attempts to change and strengthen laws at the state and federal levels. Enforcement remains important. Prevention is key. But laws are the linchpins of public safety and holding offenders accountable.

Resilient Roundtable a Resounding Success

By Robin Stimson, LMSW, and Rae Carkhuff

On Thursday, January 20, 2021, MADD Mid-Atlantic Victim Services was honored to hold a Resilient Roundtable – the first-ever event of its kind for MADD!

This inaugural event was a roundtable-style conversation facilitated by Robin Stimson, Victims Services Manager, and Alisa O’Neill, Victims Service Specialist for MADD’s Mid-Atlantic Regional Team. The panelists for the night included Jan Withers, Vickie Brown, and Patricia Arnold-Halbleib.

The Scoop on Delaware

By Alisa O’Neill

MADD is continuing to make a comeback into the First State!

The MADD Mid-Atlantic Region Victim Services Team had the opportunity to speak with police chiefs all over Delaware, from Wilmington Police Department to Selbyville Police Department. Due to the new variant, the presentation was done via Zoom in January.

All the attendees were very receptive to the re-surface of MADD’s presence in Delaware as well as partnering with MADD in the future. We shared the services that the Mid-Atlantic Region can provide to victims, and the MADD initiatives, such as checkpoints and Saturation Saturday.

The chiefs also viewed the NHTSA Roll Call video to illustrate how we can be of service to law enforcement. We hope to see our fellow Delaware officers at the upcoming Delaware Walk in May.

Legendary Law Enforcement: Jeff Imgrund

Jeff Imgrund is an officer out of Newport News, VA. He is a long-time winner of MADD’s Law Enforcement Recognition (LER) Award with over 500 DUI arrests in his career.
